    UDS build threads

I trailered my offset smoker to the ranch last week so I could cook for the work crew. What a pain.

Was thinking about building an UDS to leave out there -- but the UDS threads are basically useless since Photobucket got greedy.

Anyone care to re-post some UDS how-to's, pics, etc?

    Thanks!

I built mine with 2 rack levels. Definitely do that! I use both levels all the time.

My basket rack was a pie pan bottom to catch ashes. I used a charcoal rack for a webber grill and rolled expanded metal around it. I elevated the rack from the pie pan about 4" using bolts and large washers. (hope that all makes sense)

Anyways i use the tar out of mine.

So I used my last barrel out of X amount for feeder builds and decided to make a UDS. I'm mad I waited so long to make one! I smoked a brisket and pork butt last weekend, it worked out perfect. I bet it can get 20+ hours @ 250 no problem with 14"x12" charcoal basket. I did have fan system on it that died on the first smoke but it really doesn't need one anyways. I seen the old thread
searching UDS and figured I would bring it back.
