Couple of months ago I asked for recommendations for a fishing guide that was good with kids. Several folks responded, and after calling the guides that were recommended we set a trip with Mike Williams. We booked a trip with him based on the fact he was friendly when I called for info and he has a high sided 23ft Parker, which would make my wife more comfortable about the kids once we were in the water.
Left out of the Galveston Yacht Basin this morning at 7am and ran out to the end of the north jetty. Started hammering the sheepshead almost immediately. We also caught a few hard heads, and my son fought a big black drum for about 15 minutes before we got it in the boat. Capt Mike was patient, good humored, and very accommodating of our kids and did an awesome job of making it a successful trip but also a family trip. I highly recommend him if you have kids and we will be booking another trip with him this summer.
