While we have a couple small creeks crossing our place, we are at least 15 miles from a river.

I've seen them around plenty of small creeks. I had two walk in front of me in a ladder stand on a ridge at least 200 yards from a slough. I remember the first ones I saw as a young duck hunter, thinking sure I was seeing a pair of black panthers slipping through the woods.

Something crossed the road in frontof me recently in Leon co.
Looked like a small otter, but it was really fast and smooth running. Don’t they hump along funny?

I am no otter expert, but I bet a couple of them could clean a tank out of fish pretty quick.
