So, I decided to head to the lease this morning since I had Thursday and Friday off. I made it here around noon, ate lunch, got all my stuff together, and called the hubby. He helped convince me I might as well go sit in a stand since it was that crappy, cold, misty kind of day and there wasnt anything else to do. Got to my stand at 130, put out some sweet feed, spun the feeder, grabbed my card and climbed in. At 1340, out pops a doe. She circles and seems real nervous for a couple minutes. I thought it was just because I was still trying to get settled. Then I see movement back in the trees, and pick up my binos and it's the big 9 I want to kill. He takes a good 10 minutes to work a scrape, rub a little and finally jump in to eat a little corn. Another 5 minutes go by before he turns enough to give me a shot right at 2pm. I'm still in shock my first hunt of the weekend lasted a whole 30 minutes and it happened so early. I heard him crash but the tracking was slow going because while I was waiting, it started to intermittently rain harder while I was tracking him. He is the biggest buck I've ever shot AND it was a bow kill! He went 60 yards...
