What kind of dog is Nola?

My wife and I adopted this sweet girl back in March. She was extremely skiddish at first, especially of me but she has really opened up and displays a ton of personality and is really very playful.

Does anyone have any ideas what breeds she could have in her?

She loves to hunt bunnies when we take her out and her nose absolutely rules her. Once she is down in the grass sniffing, it is hard to get her off a scent. She appears to be a little protective of mama but not in an aggressive way. She is pretty smart as well and has picked up a few commands with ease.

I was thinking some beagle and maybe a type of shepherd. Short hair and sheds a fair amount. She is 16 months old, full grown and about 40 lbs.
