27.5" East Matty Sow

Got to Hit East Matty yesterday for the first time with the new motor. Bite was slow but we picked up a few trout and one rat red before the bite shut down. Got on the water right at the end of a minor and it was decent for about 30 mins. We fished the windward side with artificials and one of my friends hooked up on this girl. 27.5" with a 13" girth. CPR her and picked up a few smaller ones. Saw several trout her size or larger working but couldn't get on them. Went over to the south side and water was green there. Lots of mullet and bait at dark. Lots of fish working but couldn't get on them. A good trip none the less and got a lot of bottom mapped out while wading.

The birds picked up right at dark. We went and hit one group on the way out and there was just a ton of small bait. Looked like a lot of small fish had them pushed up. We are going to go back out next week and wade a little earlier then go chase some birds.

That fish had a 13" girth and was thick. Really thick. She weighed a lot more than some longer fish we have seen for sure. We didn't get a scales on her though.
