Welding unistrut?

if oyur mounting the unistrut to the ceiling, purchase the brackets and just bolt it all up, no welding required. its designed to be bolted together not welded ..

Just span the Unistrut, use the captive nuts to mount your opener. No welding necessary. Unless you just got a new welder and need to air it out.

3 or 4 pieces of perforated angle will hang any opener regardless of joist direction

I used a piece of inch and a half angel 20 inches long, studs were 18ins center
lag bolted to ceiling. then 1in. strap metal bolted to angle, put the strap in vise twisted a quarter turn punched the holes and mounted. didnt need a cross brace it was pretty stout.
