How many mounts do you have at home?

Right now I've got 25 here at the house and another 8 at the taxi.

Most of them are shoulder mounts, only a few euros plus some duck mounts. No fish.


Seems like there is an extreme spread between numbers of mounts between hunters, with some hunting a lifetime and only acquiring 1 or 2 and others having 50+ mounts.


Me, I like having taxidermy and view it as art. My goal is to have a wide and very diverse collection of taxidermy that I've collected over a lifetime. I've been fortunate to collect some pretty decent specimens and I've been happy with the diversity thus far, hope to continue on the pace I've been at.

Plus a few back and tail skins but 17
Different species of game hanging.

1 shoulder mount and a few sets of horns.

Until a few years ago all my antlers would go to my neighbor's house and be hung up on his back patio area. Also known as the horniest place in Hempstead.

Right now I'm at 10 European, 1 bobcat, 1 largemouth, 1 javelina, and 2 shoulder mounts.

cleaned my trophy room last year, there were 60 shoulder mounts, euros, turkeys, fish, bear rugs, turkey fans/beards, etc. Took a week to clean all of them!!

Two whitetail. One I shot the first time my son hunted with me. The other one he killed in Missouri when he was 12. Neither one is big but they are special.
The other one is a darn nice black buck.

More than I have room on my walls for. Still have 4 at the taxidermy I have no idea what I'm going to do with. I have several just sitting in a closet because there is nonmore wall space.

i have 1 shoulder mount and about 12 euro of nilgai, axis, and WT. after doing the shoulder mount I realized they were not that big of a deal to me. So no I just boil the heads and do euros on the ones I want to keep. for me, I prefer not to spend the money on shoulder mounts.
