    Belize Fishing Recomendations

The wife and I are headed to Belize for 8 days and plan on relaxing a lot, but I also would like to plan a fishing trip or two. That being said, anybody have any experience with outfits you’d recommend?

Id like to get on some bonefish in the flats, but also possibly plan something to get out in a little deeper water as well. Thanks for any advice!

We are headed to San Pedro on Wednesday, we are fishing with the Bradleys. We have two days booked, one day of reef fishing, one day billfishing, weather permitting.
Friends we are going with have fished with them before. They did the reef fishing trip and had a great time. The trip included a lunch on the beach which included fresh ceviche and rum punch as well as snorkeling.

This. Fished with Gilberto Lara and 2 of us caught at least 30 bonefish fly fishing.
The reef trip with beach lunch and snorkeling was great. We stayed at El Pescador and they set up everything. We were there in July.Caye Caulker is a good day trip.

Are you staying on Ambergris Caye? I used 2 different guides down there. I had a good experience with Go Fish Belize. I would recommend them. The resort set me up with another independent guide I didn't care for.

Fished out of Caye Caulker a couple days with Chasing Tail, we caught about 5-8 permit a trip pitching small crabs in front of the schools, it was a blast. They were 18-22lbs. Fun stuff on spinning gear. Also hooked up a few tarpon but none landed.

Omar's Freelance fishing. I've flyfished with him twice for bones/permit. His shop is in San Pedro down the street from the airport. Cheaper than the lodges like El Pescador. omarfreelancefishing@yahoo.com
