shot a double drop tine cactus buck!

So my buddy had pictures of this buck back in May with this same size rack in velvet. We were trying to figure out how he had gotten that big already in May and figured he would be a monster once october rolled around. He disappeared for the last few months but showed back up last week. You can imagine my surprise when he walked out at 30 yards with 3 does around him. Shot him at 50 yards. I thought he was hard horned when i shot him and freaked out when i walked up and saw he was still in full velvet. Upon closer inspection he has what is referred to as Cryptorchordism aka (cactus buck). He had no testes and therefore didnt generate enough testosterone to fuel shedding/ regrowth of antlers. They remain in velvet their entire lives.

Awesome buck! We have seen/ killed a few stags in the Mason area. My bro shot a smaller 8pt before and I've seen several spike freaks but never one that big! Congrats! Good eating there!

Congrats, I have one that's worn the same set of antlers for 3 years now.

I had him in my sights last week when the cows decided it was their turn.
