Buddy of mine killed his 2nd Elk a couple of days ago. I think he is a member here (or maybe lurks) but I thought I'd share this anyhow. I posted pics of his 1st Elk (Colorado) last year. It was a small 4x4.
He's been putting in for AZ for 11 years. Finally drew a tag. He is a little disappointed as this is definitly not the biggest bull in the mountains but......... a Bull w/your hands all over it is waaaaaaay better than 2 in the bush! And waaaaaay better than "tag soup". Said it's not what you come to AZ for but, in the heat of the moment, adrenaline pumping, a bull screaming, ....... **** happens. I'm sure he looked like a 500" bull when he came into range! ! ! ! !
AZ 5x5. 40 yard shot, 200 yard recovery. Weighed 712 lbs. Public land, do it yourself.
Congrats Tony! I'd of whacked him too! 2 elk, 2 diff states, back to back years. If you ask me, thats gettin 'er done!
