          2. How did you get permission to take it?

1.) We skinned him, saved the tail meat, and discarded the rest. I have the hide in Dads walk in Freezer and skull is being cleaned for a European mount.

2.) Here is Colorado County, we are a non-core county which means we can catch one gator per person by legal means. Once the gator has been catch and dispatched we had to fill out a Wildlife Recourse Document then we had 72 hrs. to report it to TPWD and receive a CITIES tag. We were on private property so permission was granted to us by the landowner.

I bet you don't forget that trip any time soon. Don't try to top that adventure, you're too old.
Rat, the hook was down in his belly, he swallowed it, but you can bet your bottom dollar I got my hook back, that was $5 that sucker had in his stomach.

And you're Killin Me Smalls with that "You're too Old" Comment

Here is mine from the 11'1", 390# gator I shot with my bow (no hook lines, just bowfishing arrows and broadhead arrows) a few years ago:

                      Congrats!

                      Nice gator!!!

This is what I want, Pops is working on getting the skull cleaned up.

There was no way in heck we were going to try and shoot him with a bow in that little bitty boat we had! Although is did cross our minds.

Wow that's a good one! I don't know exactly what I'd do with one if I ever got one but I bet I could figure it out. A full body mount would be sweet. Only problem is finding a place big enough to put it.

Great write up and congrats on the gator. I'm trying to remember who had the recipe for the marinade we used on the grilled gator for Team Gator at Bownanza a few years ago. That was good stuff!

If you listen to Swamp People that's easily a half-ton gator.
