Home made 55 gal gravity protein/corn feeder

Took me about 4 hours and $12 for the toilet closet flange, drain grate and hardware. The rest was free material or left over scrap laying around.

Used a 4” hole saw to notch the pvc and then angle cut it it my miter saw. Cut 1-1/2” by 3” slots in the down tube. Screwed it together with sheet rock screws.
Clipped the screws on the inside and ground them down after i cut the crap out of finger on one while handling it.
Then molded it all together with body filler. Cut a 4-1/2” hole in the drum and bolted the flange from the inside.
Then I fab’s up some legs and sockets out of scrap.
It’s right at 6’ so it’s easy to “stand and fill”.
Finished it off with some custom camo and set it up behind the house by my other feeder to see how the deer like it, then I’ll move it out to it’s permanent spot at camp next trip I make.

The corn feeds nicely through the slots but doesn’t dump out. I’m going to add a funnel to the inside before I move it and fill it up.

They usually don’t make it past the dukes and dog food.

Looks good, but I'm thinking the hogs and coons are going to love you!

                Hope it works out!

Build some similar a few years back and glued pvc caps cut in 1/2 to keep from wasting feed.
