“The Snake Method” | Slow smoking on a Weber Kettle grill

Who all does this? I’ve had great success using my Weber to smoke briskets, pork butts, chicken, and wild game using the Snake, or Fuse, Method.

    My most recent brisket:

I’ve created some videos demonstrating the process. Enjoy!

Yessir. Just pulled one this morning. Although my method was a little different this time just out of necessity.

Neat process. Nice video (just watched top one listed). I've cooked briskets on a Weber before -- as well as turkeys -- by putting pan of liquid underneath and feeding coals and wood chunks through side openings under handles. Requires a lot of tending. Your method makes the process a lot more convenient and hands off. Thanks for sharing.

This is why I love this, especially when you use a dual-probe thermometer. Just make adjustments to the damper, and you don't have to lift the lid at all.

This past week's brisket, I got a full 14 hours on the first snake without lifting the lid. I had to rebuild it to finishing it all out, and ended up with an 18-hour cook. Turned out amazing! 14# brisket for 3 of us - we're over halfway done with it!

Thats pretty cool. I've always heard of the snake method but never seen the fruits of the labor.

Yes! 40 coals and your wood. Works great and will hold a good temp!

Are yall using the 22" Weber or the bigger 26"? Or does it matter? I have a 22" at the lease i would like to try this on.

I tried it once, and couldn't get all the briquetts to light. Any suggestions as to what I did wrong?
