Are you saying this is fake
He only shot two kids and not 3?
Is shooting only 2 kids in a gun safety class better than shooting 3?

No, what I'm saying is, the dumbass teacher shot the ceiling, and 3 students were hit with "debris from the ceiling", although one student claims he was hit by bullet fragments. You may have a future career at CNN however.

I recall a vid of a police officer shooting himself in the leg giving a firearm safety speech to a school class room...I reckon if the teacher had followed suit, the OP would be rejoicing??

Yep, that's what I read. Although I do my best to give everyone the benefit of doubt...
I'm beginning to believe that texanfan is certifiably crazy. And George Soros behind it all? Good grief.

If I get scolded for saying what I just said, I really don't care very much.

You titled the thread “teach shoots three students”. Read the article again and tell me if that is true or false.

Why a loaded gun in a safety class? SMH

At least he had it pointed in a safe direction, up at the ceiling is about the best you can do in a class room.

I love how everyone's attention span is so short and narrow that you can't see that a highly trained firearm safety instructor UNINTENTIONALLY FIRED a weapon I a classroom full of kids but we want teachers with far less training handling weapons all day everyday.

All of y'all fall for the quarter behind the ear trick.

Our local school system armed the teachers 5 or 6 years ago.
So far they have not shot any kids or had anything happen

Accidents happen every day. Whether you are trained to the t or not. Chit happens. But your argument that teachers shouldn't be armed because a highly trained safety instructor had an accidental misfire is just dumb. Schools will be way safer with a few teachers that feel comfortable enough to arm themselves allowed to do so. Its not like they will have their side arms out and giving their class tips on how to function it or anything. They'll be concealing them just like the rest of us do on a daily basis.

That's an awfully lame attempt to side-step or disguise your complete effup with your title to this thread, the disinformation with your original post and in your first reply to Ironman - who promptly busted you right out of the chute.

It would be my suggestion that you just disappear for awhile and hope readers will forget about it over time. That's what I do sometimes when I sober up and wish I hadn't said whatever it was that I said.

I don't know who you really are, nor do I care to become acquainted... but seriously, I think you got some deep seated problems Hoss.

I'm not going to say that Union Grove is typical of how every school will be but ....
They armed a select few teachers several years ago.
The school district paid a friend of mine to train them, not only in handling the weapons but in tactics.
They now gather up once a quarter and run drills in the schools.
My son went last month to be a bad guy (shooter)
He told me that those fellows take their responsibility seriously and he has no doubt that they could stop a shooter quick, fast and in a hurry.

In the rural areas of this state there are a lot of schools that are not in towns with a swat team. Fairly common for the school to be between towns and the school district to cover several small towns.
I have no doubt that a team of men that are well train and on site would be a better option than waiting on a single officer to show up 20 minutes after a shooter entered a school

A MARSOC guy shot himself in the junk a couple weeks ago re-holstering. I think it's just best during a school shooting situation for the first responders to cower outside (like they did in Florida) and for the people inside to hide behind desks and wait for their ticket to be punched. Can't be having anyone with a gun in that building. There could be an accident.

Yep,best plan of action..................let's just do nothing. The article clearly says that the teacher was not authorized to have a gun in the school. So apparently he broke the law bringing it,so much for "Gun free zones".

OP is in his own little word, but it's ok........they know him there.

This is not at all the way you framed the thread with your original post. Your thread title is misleading and inflammatory. The news stories don't even frame the story the way you did.

If you can't figure out how to post without instigating, find another forum on which to participate.

And no, I'm not in complete agreement with arming a bunch of teachers. Ain't very many of them (or at least many of the ones that I've known) that had / have the knowledge, experience with firearms and are capable of handling that responsibility. A few, yes. But **** few. And that statement isn't applicable to only educators - but to people in all lines of work.

Nobody is advocating "arming a bunch of teachers"As far as experience.........how much experience has any of these shooters had? This last one was 19 not prior military or LEO experience. How much experience did he have?People in all lines of work defend themselves everyday with a gun.
The dramatics the those of you opposed to people protecting themselves is amazing.I'm sure it works well in your circle of liberal friends.

I really don't have a dog in this hunt, may kids are grown and their kids go to a school that already arms their teachers but as a man....
If there was some nut case shooting up a school and all the coaches ran away, I would think them a coward.
How can I ask or expect them to charge into a fight to save the kids and not give him the tools he needs to do it.

Now that was kinda tacky.
I am not opposed in any way to people protecting themselves. What kind of fool would be? I believe the 2nd Amendment should be left-the-hell-alone. And although I personally got no use for "assault" type weapons (I'm an afficionado of "classic" rifles), if other people want the ugly pos's, that's their business. Own 'em, I don't care.

Lastly (and I mean lastly), my circle of friends includes both liberals and conservatives - mostly conservatives. Find somebody else to eff with. I won't accommodate you beyond this little reply.

Arm some of them - with careful and thorough vetting. How that could be done? I don't know. But however it's done, don't tell any students or anyone outside "the need to know" circle. Let whoever tries something guess. And more security guards, both outside and roaming the halls - whatever it costs.
I think.
But there ain't no perfect answer as we've just seen with the fool not checking to see if it was loaded before holding class.

And that's more than enough outa me for today.

Here's a guy that joined the forum in November of 2014 and is already a "Ten Point" and has YET to post anything that contributes positively to the forum. I hate using the "Ignore list" but if ever there was a member here that I have do desire to see ANYTHING he posts, it's this joker...

Please, Y'all DO NOT QUOTE this peckerhead so those of us that accidentally get on a thread where he posts won't have to see his drivel!

Personally, I like Casey's advice. He should go find somewhere else to post cause he sure don't have any friends here.

I don't really care who your friends are.Your claim that teachers or folks in other lines of work can't handle the responsibility of being armed is ludicrous at best.I'm not "effing" with you, just responding to your , uninformed, inaccurate, dramatic comment.
I also don't care if you reply or not.
