Buck with hole in the ear.

Been getting a bunch of pictures of this buck at the water trough lately. Got a picture this morning and noticed what looks like a perfect hole in his right ear.

Maybe whatever is casting the shadow on the ear has a small hole in it allowing a little circle of light to come through? Kinda what it looks like when I zoom in. Or maybe the antlers are casting the shadow. I probably don't know what I'm talking about.

The last 3 deer we have killed on our place all have had split ears on one side. Looks like a bullet hole in yours though

i bet it's just a .22 hole. I knew a guy who played a flag football tournament with a .22 hole in his left trap! just had a band-aid on

Not a one. I have not been out to check my other camera's in a good while. Had some real good rains in August which pretty much shut the trough down activity wise until about a week ago.
