Default Traditional FSC Week 18

This will be an oldie, and some might remember back oh 6 or so years ago

Take a TP roll and then cut one up just about 1/4" to get your folds to attach to your backstop. Next take a soft drink or water bottle cap, and thread it so it will be center to the front of your TP roll. The object is to arrow the cap through with your arrow from 10 yards, but if you tip it great too. As always closest to the center wins.

Ready to rock.

I too have already shot a lot today, so it'll have to wait a while.

Shot mine today. I really enjoyed this one, but I gotta say it's harder than I though it would be. I was close, but not in the tube. Then I shot 5 more times and was getting close every shot but couldn't get one in. I ended up tearing up the base of the roll!!

I kinda feel like I cheated, I've been practicing a lot from 25-30 yrds trying to tighten my groups. So yesterday I practiced from 10 yrds in anticipation of this challenge.
I highly encourage practicing at your max range a lot!!! It really tightens your groups on those closer shots!

Relatively guys like you Randy are generally more consistent and capable at all ranges. The foundation group of this section, such as you, Rick, Bisch etc, are of the caliber of shooter we all hope to become and strive to be.

You're not cheating. You're teaching us the path to better shooting.

Nice, Briar! Different bows? (rh, lh?)

Edit: Do I recall you having one of those dual shelf bows, with a shelf on either side of the riser?

Got the cap, but Randy's shot still has me beat.

It broke the cap, so no way to measure, but judging by the video it hit just inside the lip on the left side.

The picture is rotated to show the position the roll was mounted on the target.
The yellow circle is somewhere in the area of impact.

Thanks Bro.

Yours was obviously in toward center.
Mine was obviously at the outer edge.
You have me beat easily by at least 1/2 the width of your arrow shaft.

Dang close! Hair on a gnats hiney close. Fantastic shooting!

TradTiger...Bob Sarrels dual shelf Lynx...laminated recurve. (Or dual shelfed 1954 Bear Polar...laminated longbow...brief daily lh/rh sessions)

Great practice. I pulled and walked.

Had to shoot 3 more, just to prove to myself I can shoot a little. I aint by no means horn-tootin, just a little pumped I can still somewhat shoot after not having shot since my cuff surgery Dec. 22, till the end of March. And since then, I just shoot here, and there. Cuz I'm still a ways from 100%, and after working with my arms all day, aint got a lot of "feel good" left in my shoulder most days. Thanks for putting up with me... Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

You know I'm impressed. Not with the great shots. I've been impressed by them for months.

But by the fact so many were willing to use thread to suspend a bottle cap in a toilet paper tube.

Thanks guys! Ryan, and Scott, as much as I would like to say I wasn't a bit surprised... I WAS surprised I was able to put another 1 of the next 3 I shot in the tube. I try and pick my "days it aint bothering me too bad" as my days to shoot! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty

Awesome shootin Rusty! Good shooting TradTiger, I like the toothpick mount method too!

DRT and Junkers...I was thinking the same thing as Im sitting at my bathroom sink stabbin holes in the cap and threading the floss...tryin not to tear the roll and tie the knots.

I cant wait to see the next target.

Good shootin brothers! Yeah, I duct taped a piece of that skinny red ribbon that comes on a spool, split the tube, slid ribbon in the slits, and duct taped up the tag ends around the outside. I didn't take all the time to trick it out and suspend it on 4 individual threads, just lazy I guess ! Good Huntin, and God Bless, Rusty
