Looks like very mild winds there Saturday. Temps in the mid 70s to upper 80s. Chance of rain in the afternoon/evening.

Looks like the W lake has come up about 7" in the last 24 hours. Grandbury is releasing a little over 7200 cfps at the moment. The W lake is still 1.60 feet below norm.

I may have to go hit the Grandbury dam for some stripers and sandies one morning very soon.

I tried calling the corp office a week ago to ask about camping at Steele Creek Park. Apparently they're waiting on a contractor to finish repairs, but they do intend to open it up at some point.

I hope you fellas have a great season! I lucked out and got drawn elsewhere.

There was a skid loader with a grappler attachment setting at the gate this morning. I think they may be getting ready to clean it up. I hope.

I was almost 350 when I printed mine out this week. Aug is always slow. Then it starts to ramp up mid Sept. And continues through Dec.

Doing another boat mod today. Building a troller platform/mount on the little short front deck. So I can put a foot controlled troller on it while fishing. Just need to fab a rear cover plate, paint, and plug installed on the cover plate. And it will be ready for another troller. Then I can move the transom mount troller back to the transom .

Anybody seen the Ulterra trollers by Minn Kota? Wish they made a 12 volt system like that.

And glad August temps are back down to normal. Now that I've got a little bit of time on my hands, I might get down to the lake a little more.

Looks like the first half of the season is a no go for me.

Is Kimble Bend open now?

I would bet Chisholm Trail will be open for camping. I saw a few folks camping there a couple weeks ago.

Wasn't when I came home from work Friday. You could tell they had been doing work down there, here's hoping they get them open soon

TG, I'm thinking of going one of those days, or maybe Saturday.

Worked a youth archery booth this past Saturday and on the way back through Crowley blew the top seals out on the truck radiator, so currently in the process of putting a new radiator in- so depends on the status of the truck.

Welcome to TBH fellow Burlesonite!
I had a list of all members here in Burleson at one point. We had over 45 last I remember.

Sorry to hear about the truck Razorback. If ya need a hand, give me a shout and I'll come help. I'm temporarily retired, so to speak . Saturday, I've got a B-day party at Alpine for both kids in the morning and lunch. But can go at any other time.

Wouldn't you know it, I've been our of work since March and getting ready for bow season out of the blue a headhunter calls me. I asked them to Call me back at 430
To see what and where they are thinking to offer me. I'm tired of moving around so unless the money's good enough I think I'll tell them DFW area or nothing.

Looking forward to a new year! I mainly lurk and don't post too much, duck hunters have to keep their secret spots secret

Good luck to anyone dove hunting today. I'd be very interested to know if anyone is seeing any teal down just yet. I've seen them on the Brazos and out West so they should be there.

I'm not a duck hunter so I don't really know but I did see a flock of what looked like small ducks close to the lake a couple days ago. From what I know teal are smaller than normal ducks right? Maybe that's what they were maybe not

Yessir, teal are small ducks. Any ducks on the lake right now in flocks of more than 2 are most likely teal. There will be a few resident mallards, most likely in pairs. woodies will be flying the feeder creeks at first light, but not on the main lake.

To all, there are no ducks on these lakes. Never have been, never will be. They don't like the water here. It gets their feathers wet.

I checked out all 5 post. They're just like a lot of other new bones that start here. Only thing I can figure is maybe soliciting or inappropriate PMs. That is, unless he started an inappropriate thread. And it got pulled. Or he was a previously banned member under a new alias. All the mods have to do then is do an IP cross check. That's happened a few times on here. And why we're only allowed one alias.
