Greasy just means you can get it through your system quicker

Fried up some of that turkey last night.... it was pretty darn good.

Went and checked cams and scouted a bit Saturday. One cam was missing, but that the price of doing business. Everything was incredibly green and there was a substantial amount of standing water. Still getting some fairly decent traffic; excited to start seeing some growth and see if a few make it till October.

I need to get out there and scout earlier like you and some others on here are doing.
I always wait till it's a 100 degrees to get in the woods!

I do the same cuz I know their patterns are gonna change anyway later on. At least the deer I train do.

Just saw the wind report for Sunday and Monday. Guess I'll be doing honey do's and scouting.

Wife has completed Hunter Education... so just now need to find a good morning to head out to the woods and try and get her on a couple bushy tails. Time to do some google earth scouting. The bottoms I usually hunted during Fall were more than a mile in and had water crossings... think I'll try and avoid those for the first trip out.

Going to take wife, mom, mil and sil to airport at 1am Sunday. Then to see if a squirrel will run into my bullet.

I tell you what... I really think the secret to hitting a squirrel with an arrow is to figure out how to get them to run into the arrow instead of away from it.

Or put a little gun powder behind the arrow.

I saw some setup ted nugent had that he fired an arrow out of a .22 or something. Was either a really light load with a special nock or an airgun. Can't remember.

I went after some squirrels on Sunday, the only thing I saw were
8 does five of them were mature. It looks like they already drop their fawns.
Also saw a small cotton tail.

Damian were you able to go scouting this past Monday, or did you go fishing? Honestly I forgot all about going to the forest but I've been so busy at work I don't think I could've gone anyway. That's ok. After being out of work for so long I'm glad to be making a little money again.

Keep scouting and you'll find a whole more than that. There's stands all over. You can report them but it won't matter much. They're too busy to collect them.

How old were the stands? Was there fresh marking tape near it?

I've seen some old rickety wooden stands out there. I actually like finding those. Newer stands, not so much. Me personally, I note the location and move on.

Seeing flagging is the more interesting find in my opinion. Lots of different ways to read those.

They looked like they been there since last season two ladder stands I figured that they used them and just never came back to get them

I report them. Of course nothing probably comes from it, but at least you did your job. I note the location, and think of why they have stands there. Maybe a good spot?

On flagging tape, I like to think of the different possibilities. Where they going? Where they been? In the off season I will follow flagging tape to see where it goes, and why. I am more reclusive with my markers.
