So last night, feeder battery died and I have been cat & mousing w/ this hog for too long. So today I put a new battery in the feeder and left Rye & decided to go to my Cleveland hog property. Now I'm up & set, something's goin down!!

Yes, sir it was a blast but we looked like a bunch of drowned rats! It really made shooting more difficult.

It was great meeting you Scott and really enjoyed shooting with all of yall!
Let's shoot again sometime

Wish i could get back out there again today. I let myself go too long without shooting and yesterday reminded why that shouldn't happen. Need to make another shoot this year. Gonna be on the lookout for a useable osage stave too.

Heck, I shoot 3 to 4 times a week and I didn't do so great. It was a pretty challenging course with more than just a few stretched out shots.

Wet tabs, strings, and fletchings didn't help either.

Wont be any deer left in the Sam after that. Wonder if that means leftover license tags can be used with a gun in the special season?

Hey Tod... you gonna post some pictures. I realized that I never took my phone out to snap any. The rain might have had something to do with it.

Well, really wanted to go the fort worth this weekend with Tod, but instead it looks like we're going to take the boys to the tx city dyke and let them play while i throw out a line or 5. Probably take the kayak too, just in case. Might roll over to the surf too and see what i can catch

Catfish bait!

Hey ladies, its been a long time since I have been on here. I'm just letting you know that I posted a couple summit climbers in the classified section. Price can be lowered for you shnf hunters.
You guys take care , its been fun but I'm tired of dealing with Yahoo's in the woods. These past few years it seems to be getting worse. I have decided to make the change to private.
You all have been great and it was awesome getting the chance to meet some of you in person. There are some great people in here and they know who they are. I still keep in contact with that select few.

You all take care and God Bless....

Not to be generic but there's tons of info in the many threads of years past. Not too much on locations though. The only thing I can suggest is not to be out there with the crazies on opening weekend of gun season. Good luck.

Somebody post HRE's infamous SHNF etiquette comment. That's pretty much all anyone needs to know.

On a related note, is anyone else ready for deer season? 3 more months...

How many of you guys hunt the small, isolated patches of the forest? Went and hiked a trail in one of these areas over the weekend, saw a doe and quite a bit of sign. Part of me thinks that spot may be overlooked and part of me thinks you would be rubbing elbows with people.

That's the bad part about the Sam. You just never know. I've been fooled plenty of times.

I know this is a public hunting forum but wanted to see if any of y'all might have a need for 3 FREE feeder legs? These are the sectional kind from Moultrie. They've been sitting in a box in my garage and never used. And did I mention they're free?

I did a ton of hiking and put up a couple trail cameras saturday. Ill go back down and check them in a month and reevaluate. Hoping to get an idea of what bucks are in the area and how deer are using the funnels I found. Itll be fun to watch them for the next three months.
