Default Death of Globalism

I hope and we shall see. It is looking like the globalists and statists have already been run out of the UK and now the US. Tomorrow the Netherlands may vote to do the same by electing Geert Wilders and then France by electing Marie Le Pen.

Polls for the Netherlands show Geert as neck and neck with the incumbent. Polls are skewed in favor of the incumbent so lots of parallels here with the Trump election. More parallels still with Marie Le Pen who is drawing Trump like crowds to her rallies and is polling very high as well. Frances election to happen next month. Exciting times indeed.

LePen has definitely worked to separate her fathers party from it's horrible past. She even kicked her dad out of the party and told the skin heads to stay away from events. Yep, gonna be interesting to see who wins these races and how they use their nationalist stance to get things thru there various governmental systems!

Things are looking pretty bad for the globalists in the French election. If there is also a "Frexit" out of this that would just be fine with me.

You and I both. I'd be lying if I said it didn't make me smile to see the squirming and fit throwing of those whose power and idealism is slipping away.

A Frexit would be fine with me also. We were there last year and could clearly see the differnces in neighborhoods near the airport...........rough! I would not want LePen at all, but Macron is just as bad for France in other ways. Gonna be very interesting.

LePen surge only got her 34.1% of the votes............huge turnout for the election at over 75%. Our last presidential election only got 58% turnout in comparison. LePen already conceded with a short speech, sure the impact will not go un-noted. Macron will be interesting to watch!

There seems to be no limit to the gutless french.
PC socialism seems to have a huge hold on that country.
Wonder how many more terrorist attacks they will need to have before their smart enough
To elect someone who will do something about it

Canada is going to be next in the muslim takeover

France as we know it is gone. Time will tell what it will become. Hopefully Britain will be able to save its identity by pulling out of the EU. I would like to see U.S. commitments re-evaluated and our military commitments to Muslim states in Europe re-assessed as well.

Or it could be seen as......The French, big majority of them, have sent the message that they are not going to let a bunch of Islamic radical terrorist punks change their belief in values of equality, humanity and other proud progressive values and cower in fear.

..........or they did not have very good choices and picked the less of two evils as it relates to their government. Norway and Austria also rejected folks on the extreme far right. I will guess the French will understand that action must be taken sooner than later in the growing crisis of global terrorism.

"Lesser of two evils" doesn't apply. As the two choices on the ballot were so very different!!
And yes Islamic extremists must and will be defeated. But the French chose the one that they believe will fight the battle honorably. Yes honor and compassion. Those still matter to some.

It applies based on how a voter perceives the candidate pool. LePen was perceived as "alt right!" Macron has leaned mighty far left in some of his speeches. The French had zero idea what to expect from either.........we better hope they get serious about terrorist in a hurry as the attacks in France have been increasing steadily over the last 5 years!

Is the extreme far right a reference to La Pen? I don't get why people refer to her that way. She is no where close. Economically and socially she is about on par with what you would expect a European politician to be. If she lived here she would probably be Bernie Sanders running mate.

Oh I know. I'm just saying i've been hearing the media and everyone talking about the French election brand her that way. We do it here too on both sides. It's an attempt to make someone seem outside of the realm of logic. I just don't think she fits that bill.

She had the weight of her father's party .....which she had to kick him out of and she actually left a few days b4 the election runoff.. ....the National Front have a loooong history in France of being less than desirable. I would conclude far from what Bernies nitwits are known for. More in tune with my homeboy David Duke.

I'm aware of the history of the party. My reference to Bernie was with social and economic policies. I don't see refugee and immigration policy as a partisan issue. They have had a serious problem with Islamic terror the last decade.

La Pen said "hey we need to do something, we cannot sustain this".

Macron said "Terror attacks are just something we will have to live with"
and
"We create terrorist with our Islamiphobia"

One got labeled a radical, the other got elected.

Yep. I know the quotes. The road to and from the airport was all I needed to see last year for springbreak....total mess. Bottom line both candidates were less than desirable. One issue candidates or parties don't carry the day in big national elections. 34% was actually a solid showing from folks in northern France and on the Spain border.
