Default My 2015-16 season

After years of guiding others and only shooting a few does and the occasional Niigai with a rifle I found the perfect lease for me. Went out and got set up for the season

Went out thanksgiving for first hunt, stopping for supplies in pretty Llano

Finally after 18years since the last lease I was on where I could bow hunt I harvested both my does. The thrill is always the same as when I was a kid but just sitting in the woods was wonderful.

After Christmas we didn't have much at work so I went out to try and harvest a buck. After a few days I kept getting this 8 point coming in

At twenty yards I drew back and settled my pin of my Elite pulse behind his shoulder. Little did I know my top cam was rubbing the roof of my pop up. Went I released the arrow it was good horizontally but hit him forward of my aim in the shoulder. He jumped out of the pen and took off plowing the ground on his brisket. I went out to the pen and found half my arrow but no blood

After waiting 45 minutes I started trailing. The bloodrunner II went straight thru into the off side ribs and sliced both lungs. He made only 70yds from where I shot.

So, after starting to bow hunt back in 1997, three does and three bows later under my belt I finally harvested my first bow buck

I've been hooked since the day I let loose on that doe in Sutton county all them years ago. Getting a buck though just took a little longer then expected
