What distance would a deer normally travel?Reason i ask is that i found a shed on my uncles propert that is identical to a deer i had taken on our place that is about 5-6 miles away. My dad says im nuts just curios to youlls opinion if it could be possible for a deer to cover that much area?

There was a post about a month or so ago on here that showed the same deer at different feeders several miles away in one night.....can't remember who posted it

They can move that far... just 99% of them DON'T at the time they are shedding antlers.

Their home range is usually about 1 square mile, but during the rut the bucks will travel the 5 or 6 miles your talking about or more looking for hot does.

Doe's rarely go over a mile from the first pond they drink from.

Hot bucks travel during the rut. I killed one years back that was making a 3 mile circle. My neighbor had him on a trail cam and we had him on 2.

Thanks for the link i guess anything is possible. ill try and get sum pics of the shed up and a pic of the buck and see what youll think.
