Definetly not an axis. Fawns usually lose their spots within 3-4 months of birth but I am guessing this one was born in early October or late September. With a gestation period of 7 months that would put the mother being bred in late February or early March. Kind of late for the rut. I am guessing the fawns doe is young and was the first time bred.

Or you've got too many does and the bucks are having to work overtime to get them all bred. Might want to consider harvesting more of them if possible.

Saw twin fawns two weeks ago. No more than a week old.
