    Kansas vs Texas deer

Thought you guys might get a kick out of this size comparison.
I shot this deer a week or so before thanksgiving last year in Kansas. My grandson shot the other one in Sonora Texas on the following weekend.
Can you tell which one is which? Lol

Regional. There are small bucks in Kansas too. I shot a 6 point cull in south Texas that dressed 227#

Both of my avatar bucks are Kansas. Got my first East Texas shoulder mount finishing up in the next month or so. Can’t wait to see the size difference on the wall! Lol

Not Texas deer.......more like west central Texas not mature deer. Lol. North Texas and South Texas deer are much bigger....when they mature.

Both deer are the same age.

Yes, Texas deer are just a little larger than jackrabbits. LOL!

Yep, on average a Kansas or Midwest deer is going to be much larger. Unfortunately for the resident hunters of those states so are their women.

Im not trying to say these deer are the same size, lol.....but those sideways mounts show more of the shoulder. I am sitting looking at two mounts that are same age and same area and my pedestal mount looks much larger than the regular shoulder mount. Yes, midwest deer are larger.....but some idiots think all Texas deer are small and the size of hill country deer which is just not true.

Montana muley on the left, N Texas whitetail on the right. Not all Texas deer are small, just most of the ones I kill.....
