            I found this guy at 9000 feet on a mountain in Colorado this past 4th off July. I had no idea they were there.

                Nice, there used to be a lot around here 40 yrs ago.
                Last one I saw was in Atascosa County about 6 or 7 yrs ago.

                  That's a short-horned lizard. Since he was at 9000 ft I'd assume it's a mountain variety as opposed to desert. Those 2 look a lot alike. Actually I think desert short-horns can be found at elevations also. Either way, excellent find!

                            Same here. 30 years ago we'd see em an catch em in the yard. I haven't seen a horned toad if decades.
