Wife and I are talking about taking a vacation to the hill country in a couple of weeks. We have been to Fredericksburg many times, and we have family there that we stay with, so that is out. We have talked about staying at a hotel/resort on one of the chain of lakes, like LBJ, or even going to Leakey. Since we won't be cooking any meals, access to some good restaurants is a huge plus. One of the reasons we have always loved Fredericksburg is tthe small town feel with numerous great restaurants. Access to nice water to swim and/or fish is a huge plus. Looking to spend around $200.00 +/- a night (weekdays). Wife just found a place called Horseshoe Bay Resort on Lak LBJ. Any ideas or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Horseshoe Bay would be a good place to stay. Lots of good eats in Marble falls. Short day trips to Burnet, llano, Lampasas. -

Horseshoe bay is a great vacation spot.
We rented a condo and enjoyed the time relaxing.
Renting a boat and jet skies were fun, but a little pricey

Check out Boerne and Comfort. Also Granbury or McKinney are great and similar to Fredericksburg.Comment
