do you use video mode on your trail cameras?

For some reason I have never tried using the video mode on any of my trail cameras. A buddy was just showing me some of his and it was cool to watch the interactions between the deer at the feeder. Are their any downsides to this in terms of battery life or anything else? What video length and delay would you suggest?

I've done it some by accident but not enough to give advice. Pretty cool actually

I've wanted to but always worried about it using up too much memory/battery.

I set one up opposite by Stand / Blind with the longest video it will do to get the reverse angle. It's pretty cool

I did it once. I think it was on my Cabela's brand camera, and the camera must make some noise or have a light or something, as all the videos were off deer being spooked by the camera. They did not like it taking video.

It's very cool and I did it for awhile. But I'm too impatient and end up flipping through too fast. So I switched it back to camera mode. Here's some samples from my place in Centerville:

Yea . It shows a lot that you miss in just pics. Mine also does sound, you heat some pretty funny stuff some times.

I'm thinking it might help give you an idea of which direction the deer are coming in from, which can be valuable info for some set-ups

Made me hate raccoons even more... and question if there is anything they cant figure out given enough time.

I use the video mode almost exclusively. Settings are a 15 second video at 5 minute intervals. The down side is the amount of time it takes to review the videos. The upside is getting familiar with individuals and their habits and sounds. A picture of a bobcat is cool, a video of a bobcat is great. I use the lithium batteries that last much longer.

I keep one on video mode all the time. Get some pretty good videos. Here's one I got last week.
