For some reason I have never tried using the video mode on any of my trail cameras. A buddy was just showing me some of his and it was cool to watch the interactions between the deer at the feeder. Are their any downsides to this in terms of battery life or anything else? What video length and delay would you suggest?

It's very cool and I did it for awhile. But I'm too impatient and end up flipping through too fast. So I switched it back to camera mode. Here's some samples from my place in Centerville:

I use the video mode almost exclusively. Settings are a 15 second video at 5 minute intervals. The down side is the amount of time it takes to review the videos. The upside is getting familiar with individuals and their habits and sounds. A picture of a bobcat is cool, a video of a bobcat is great. I use the lithium batteries that last much longer.
