That's me too, as far as custom bows and factory rifles shooting better than me. But dang, a custom is a custom. Hence the bows.

So would this build be considered a lighter weight rifle, or a heavier one? How would it compare to a Factory Remington Sendero for example? I love a heavy solid rifle. Obviously fluting the barrel will have some lightening effect.

I think Stick1 said right at 8lbs, depending on customers options.

I'm behind these same thoughts. 7mag would be more ideal of these for anyone who believes elk and/or nilgai hunts are in their future.

I grew up shooting a Roberts and still do to this day.
25-06 is very easy to find hornady makes a great factory 120gr. round.

Really considering this. What do you guys think about a 257 Weatherby Mag? I have a 22-250, 7mm-08, and 300 Win mag. It would be used mainly on whitetail size critters. I won't be shooting it all day at the range after sight in so barrel life isn't a big issue.

This is what I'm leaning towards also. My son has two more semesters before graduating college and think the creedmore would be a great graduation gift. And the 25-06 for putting up with him all these years for me lol.

Posting this for the Creed haters First group from a new rifle after 2 sighters. Off the shelf factory $26/box hunting ammo that can be found almost anywhere. The match ammo is a little cheaper and in many cases, shoots better. We see it over and over again. For guys that don't load, how are you going to beat that?

Is there an option to upgrade the stock and pay the difference?

Not really. I know it seems like that would be easy, but we can't substitute ANYTHING on these builds. We had to commit to a certain number of stocks with the same inlet patterns, barrels with the same profiles, bottom metal, etc. to hit this price point. Even the labor was figured by working with these specific parts and discounted further. This blueprint is the "Special". Would absolutely be happy to discuss one-off builds anytime for anyone wanting something different.

Thanks,
Robert

Chew...I see no reason to have a hot rod round like the 28nos & limit it's ability to not take advantage of all the powder amigo with a short bbl. I would not go any shorter than 26".

I have a 7.21 Firebird or 7mm Lazzeroni...I'll admit it's a novelty gun with useable barrel life at around 1000 rounds, but it is a laser out to 400 yards with only a 4-5 inch line of sight using a 120gr Laserhead bullet by Barnes. It takes 99 grains of powder & a 30" tube to achieve this at a little under 4000fps. It's like a Swift on steroids & doing it any different would just create extra muzzle blast. What is the point if you cannot wring it out??

If you need a a shorter handier gun in the 24" range, I would build a 280AI or even a 7mag & keep it efficient & better balanced...my 280ai pushes 120's at 3400 out of a 26" tube.
