Tradtiger has one around 70lbs I shot an arrow or two out of. I could draw and anchor fine. But no way I could do it long term and not create physical (worse ones) issues.
My string hand has too many issues to push it too hard.
I shot a doe at around 14 yards the other day. Arrow went through ribs on near side and out through the opposite shoulder blade. Arrow was on the ground about four or five yards beyond where she was standing. That's at about 52lbs DW.
I'll never hunt Cape buffalo so for what I do it's more than adequate.

Main thing about a heavy bow is that it will shoot a heavy arrow flat and fast. You do need to keep a straight and stable bow arm (often called "bone on bone") and draw with the back muscles. Easy peasy: just close the car door with the back of your draw arm as if holding a bag of groceries -- keep draw forearm and wrist relaxed, hold weight with back (scapula).
