Jen and I sat in the seats behind Roger Clemens and his wife at a Kid Rock/Cheryl Crow concert once. They were not only nice, but a lot of fun. As concert goers are apt to do, there was a lot of high-fives and hell yeahs thrown around and he was giving 'em out. Big Man.....with better seats than me.

    I met Burnadell.

I've met a few, but I can't remember a lot of them. Had a buddy play some MLB, and met a lot of his teammates. Most were great guys. I'm not impressed because someone is famous, I'm impressed because people are enjoyable to be around.

We get a few celebs in the shop. Josh Hamilton, Darrell Johnston, Mitch Moreland, Smart, some hockey dudes...some more I can’t remember.

Can you get me Smart's autograph? Maybe on a blank check.

My older brother lives and works in Nashville. He sat down for a beer at Tootsies on Broadway several years ago. Started chatting with an older gentleman sitting next to him at the bar. Talked about their music playing abilities until he realized he was having a beer with Charlie Daniels. Said he was really cool to sit and talk with. Hes also had the pleasure of playing with the guitarist and drummer for Miranda Lambert when he was running security detail on base in the army.

You guys are lucky I guess. The only celebrity I've ever met is Jimmy the hobo who hangs out in front of the Shell station in Jewett TX off Hwy 79. We always buy him beer and give him money. he always has a story for us. I tried convincing my son that Jimmy is the Mayor of Jewett.

I get the feeling that I'm not very well traveled. Most of these guys I've never heard of.

I did meet, shook hands with, and talked to Johnny Horton when I was in sixth grade. He went to the same scool I did, only much earlier. He was there to visit his old teachers and I just happened to be at the teacher's desk when he walked into the room. Very nice guy and a bass fisherman to boot.

Met and talked to Charlie Daniels backstage a few times. He was my son's favorite performer when he was younger, so we joined the "fan club". Another very nice guy !

Neil McCoy and I used the same barber for years, saw him in the chair a couple times.

Negative. I’ve played in a few scrambles with him. He’s consistently 350+ off the tee.

My wife and I were walking in a casino 30 years ago in Vegas. A huge figure came ducking out the door. It was Kareem Abdul Jabbar. We took our picture with him. Im 6'4" and felt like a dwarf standing by him. Never stood by a guy who was 6 foot 14 inches!
Chris Davis, 2 time MLB Home Run Champ! He hunts with us so this might make him less famous

With so many film and television productions over the last decade going on around here you see people around that are in those productions. They get pestered so much that I don't care to add to that.

I was cursed out once by this frizzy headed New Yorker in a cowboy hat. He was on a horse trying to impress some people I guess.

A few years back this happened.

For 3-4 races straight we were invited to the NASCAR race for free through Chevy/Farm Bureau. It was always nice as we got to test drive the newest cars and such. The seats were private and right on the track at the entrance to turn 3. Pretty good seats.

Well one year they told us that some parties would be chosen to drive the drivers around for introduction. I thought, “that’s cool” never giving it much thought after that. I was just interested into cracking open a beer but they ensured no alcohol prior to the driving even if not driving.

It was my father driving, a buddy in the back, and me riding shotgun.

So after waiting and being told where to go.... we are lined up in the 14th (I think) truck so I look up the qualifying order... it’s Kyle ****ing Busch. Which kinda bummed me out but whatever. It’s still a cool experience.

Then next thing I know it’s Dale Jr. hopping in the truck with us. HELL YEAH. Now, I’m as giddy as a 16 year old boy on prom night. The fact that NASCAR told us not to do anything stupid, stay in the car and remember that this may be aired on live TV meant nothing to me.

I decided to sit on the window for what seemed like half the track shaking his hand and trying to chit chat with him.

Randy White and Drew Pearson. Drew took the time to toss the football around with us, Randy was all business.
Robby Gorden, Rusty Wallace and Matt Kenseth. Rusty was arrogant. Matt was cool. He has a very funny, dry sense of humor.

Duck hunted for 2 days with the Duckmen, pre Duck Commander. They were trying to get some footage for their videos. There wasn't enough footage to produce a video, but a pretty cool experience sitting on a brushed in beaver hut with those guys. I did have to threaten to kick Si out of my camper for smoking.

Half during work. Others on typical weekly schedule of events. Never had a conversation with a celebrity musician.

Those I've had conversation with: Roger Staubach while in line together getting some takeout food in Dallas '89, Tom Landry at the lunch table when skiing in Vail '81, Pat Riley, Clint Eastwood, Mike Ditka, & Jim McMahon golfing in Houston '87(I served them for the week), Ken Burrough in Houston '80 over basketball practice, Mary Lou Retton at Galveston Beach '85, George Foreman in line together on Sat night at grocery store in Houston '93, Enos Cabell golfing together '05, Spencer Tillman at sushi bar in '07, Tony Dungy riding a train in '10, Darren McFadden riding plane from LV in '12, David Carr bidding his homebuilding '04, Bob McNair after regular services, and Richard Petty in the pits at TMS in '07. Arnold Palmer, Freddie Couples, Steve Stricker, Rory Mcilroy, Phil Mickelson for a few conversations since '04. Freddie is one of the greatest.
