Well as stated I ordered my Photon Thursday and it came in yesterday BUT...it was signature required and I was gone from the house with my boys swimming. Now I have no finger nails left cause I REALLY wanted to mount this on my gun and look at it last night. One more day and I will be in the pig slaying business at night.

Offroadodge I hate that you missed the shipment! The signature required is something that USPS and UPS have both started selectively doing and it's so frustrating. I talked to the Post Office about it and they claim they've always done it to any package with insurance over $199 but I know for a fact they don't always do it, even now. Maybe some carriers just leave it because they don't want to mess with taking the package back? UPS told me that it's basically up to their delivery man whether to leave it or take it back. It's a pain either way and I'm sorry you didn't get it before the weekend.

I'm sold out of Photons but my new shipment should be here Monday or Tuesday and I've already got 1-2 already sold. Sightmark said they only got around 50 Photons in this month, so I was glad to get even part of my order filled.

its all Good Jason, I was like a little kid all day around my brothers pool thinking about it. And on the ride home with the boys I couldn't wait to get home to unwrap my NEW toy...then once home and open front door WHA WHA WHA signature required notice...I cant believe that I ordered it on Thursday morning and it was here on Saturday...REALY awesome customer service and shipping. I wish more companies would do the same.

What about during the day? How's the photon look in daylight? I don't want a designated Night Hunting gun. Then I'd have to tote two rifles to the blind.

Anybody have pics through the scope in the daylight?

ORRRRRRRR you could throw some quick detach mounts on your photon and another one of your Leupold's (you Leupold lover). Then all you'd have to do is replace the scope with your photon when nightfall comes

My photon is mounted on a LaRue SPR QD and I have a Leupold Mark 4 MRT 1.5-5x20 on another that ride along in the box with my 300 BLK.

The Photon ships with QD mounts. Or at least I thought it did.

Nope... Gotta order em

As to shooting in daylight,,,
Did it yesterday...ringing steel at 100 with my 300 blackout and subsonic loads.

It is b&w just like it is at night...takes a little getting used to, but it works just fine. Would have no problem pole axing a pig or anything else with it during the day.

This has been my main and only hangup with the photon. I don't want a dedicated NV rifle. If swapping scopes is that easy and not losing 0 is true then I may as well rig it up.

I sighted my 300aac in at an indoor range yesterday, was fine in daylight. I am happy with that. I sighted in supersonics at 100 +1" and subsonics were 0 @ 100 with a can on both.

Any thoughts on the Photon3.5x with the doubler and 20IR vs the Pulsar N750 or ATN X-Sight? Or is there something better for under $1500?
This will go on a 6.8 AR and probably be shooting pigs mostly around 100-200 yards. Occasionally out to 300.

3.5x with doubler would work good for over 100yrds. I wouldn't buy a Pulsar after looking threw the sightmark

I've got 1 Photon 3.5x still in stock. Sightmark only got a handful shipped in this month so dealers only got small portions of their orders. I was thankful to get as many as I did but they've gone fast.

If anyone needs pricing, shoot me a PM. And I've still got the UNV 20IR illuminator, 1.7x doubler and video recorders in stock as of right now. I can also get you pricing on anything else from Sightmark or Pulsar if anyone is interested. I can backorder the X-Sight but I don't really recommend it since no one can confirm when it's really going to be available.

Dang it... Woke up thinking about this.

Jason what's the price of the doubler and the UNV 20IR.... PM me please.

Also to the rest of you... Jason recommended a quick detach for the 30mm... Anybody use that one he suggested? Does it return to zero like it should? Or should I pony up the cash for the Larue QD?

I'm seriously considering converting my AR into a nighttime rig because I don't use it for anything else really. Would love to hear an answer to Coach's question on the QD mount, unfortunately the Larue QD that I'm borrowing from my brother is a 1 inch.

Seem's that everyone is happy with their photons, do I need anything else to go with it? Most of my shooting would be inside of 200 yards

2300 bucks on top of a 700 dollar upper... not gonna happen. Well not for me anyway. I'm gonna month by month pick up some parts here and there to round out my SBR purchase. .. A second 5.56 SBR upper, cmc trigger, and probably a photon set up for the 300 blk. Make a Shorty pig nightmare.

Since the noveske barrel I want is out of stock. .. may just have to jump on the NV part, in the form of the photon.

Haha! Sounds good. Talked to my Sightmark rep and the Photons should be stateside by now and if there are no delays in customs, I should have them by the middle or end of next week. Not sure how many I'll be getting off back order because they are getting another short shipment this month. They are only getting in about 25% of what they have current dealer/distributor back orders for. They've done me right so far and keep shipping me a very fair amount considering how big the demand is.

Jason, figured out my issue. Im a lefty and when I turn the optic on I move it the same direction the cap comes off, so after time it loosens the cap therefore creating the issue I thought I had. There is nothing wrong with the scope.

Well Im on the hook. Yall got me... I will be checking one of these out soon...then probably add the external IR and the doubler kit after that.

I decided to just leave it on the upper so I dont need a QD scope mount. So that begs the next question

What FIXED 30mm Scope mount?
Burris AR PEPR?
Nikon M-223?
Rock River Arms?
Weaver SPR?
Vortex cantilever?
MI AR scope mount?

Theres a TON of AR scope mounts out there... any insights?
