Default TAG Outdoors Photography

So I know Iím way behind the curve on social media in regards to waiting 10+ years on creating pages to share photography, but oh well! It is what it is haha

Anyways, The Wife and I started an Instagram @tag_outdoors and a Facebook Page TAG Outdoors this past year to share our Outdoor Lifestyle Photography if any of you would like to follow along. If you like professional photos and love the Outdoors, youíll love our photos. (Iím not selling anything, just enjoy sharing pics)

Iíve been playing with cameras for 19 years now, started at 15! I do more hunting with my cameras these days than my guns, but I still love following our hunters around the ranch getting those details and memories for them to have.

My plan is to use this thread to share some of our pictures several times a week because if most of yíall are like me... Not really a fan of social media...

Hope yíall enjoy the pics! If yíall have any questions about photography send em!

Thanks,
Taylor

Great shots! Curious, what's your go to lens for longer shots?

I'm chomping at the bit to get a longer lens, thinking about a Sigma 150-600.

I keep my Sony 100-400mm 4.5 on one camera and a Sigma 16mm 1.4 on another! You have to consider the F-Stop on those longer lenses, the further you reach out the less bokeh (creamy background) you get. I enjoy Steven Drakeís ďHuntographyĒ images cuz he gets close enough to use a Sony 70-200mm 2.8 which is beautiful, but you need to be pretty darn close. If you have Great light and thereís nothing close to the animal youíre taking a picture of, then you may still be able to get some nice bokeh!!!

Let me post this next pic with the 100-400 with some good bokeh

Sony a9 with Sony 100-400mm lens
Whitetail was 20/25 yards and there was some pretty good distance between him and the brush behind him so it helped create some great bokeh!

Fun Fact Friday
The PŤre David's deer, also known as the milu or elaphure, is a species of deer that went extinct in the wild, but has been reintroduced in some areas. (Thanks to Texas)

That sheep with the spiral horns, must be blind or something seriously wrong with his eyes. They are bulging and you can’t see his eye balls ? Great photos!

Iíve been using Sony cameras for over 15 years, but I finally bit the bullet and got the newest one the Sony a9 with the 100-400mm zoom lens. I really love that set up. Itís a beast and auto focus is almost as fast as your eye so itís like cheating haha Iíve also got a Sony a6000, a Sony HandyCam, couple Sony cybershots, and I was REAL big into GoPro few years back. Got three of those! They are nice but they definitely have their limits... I havenít bought one since the 4 and I think they are up to number 7 now

I love my a6000! Itís on me all the time! Itís great for all the detail work we do up close. Once you start trying to reach out there youíll need to bump up to a nicer zoom lens and maybe even a newer body, but all my detail work to this day is still done with my a6000 with my sigma 16mm 1.4! Hereís an example shot with that set up!
