Some people understand history and learn from the past. Older folks and literature educate the younger generations to respect where we came from , and look how far we've gotten today .....

In Warsaw, Poland .. Joseph Stalin built the largest and tallest building in the city called he palace of culture. The Polish people have it b/c of what it stands for, the subjugation and enslavement by the Soviets of Poland. But they chose to leave it up, not as a money making tourist attraction, but to remember what happened so it doesn't happen again. Every time they see it they remember what Stalin did and every generation coming up gets to see it and learn about the history of it.

To look on the bright side of this once all those monuments are gone the city will instantly become a center for peace and understanding among races yes?

They need to just break open the levee again and leave the entire cesspool flooded.

But that might pollute the gulf! Better to just "bury it" since the gov there is already "dirty". But then someone would come along and say there was a "cover-up". Just say-n.

Hmmm, yep name truly fits personality

FYI - the majority of people in NOLA are NOT the problem. The "cesspool" consists of the corrupt politicians who have caved into social justice groups without allowing the tax payers a true vote on this monument removal.

Well.. full disclosure... the people of NOLA keep electing the cesspool.... sometimes they do it twice....

In all fairness, the "majority" of the people obviously voted the corrupt politicians in.

The streets are blocked by police. There is no telling what this is costing the city by the hour. And they are in no hurry either.

What crane company is doing the work? It sure seems like it would be bad business to take this thing down for them.

Shoot, even if the city found an operator, and rented the crane, I would be shocked that anyone would rent a crane to the city for this...
