I read an article this morning that explains the depth of what he tried to pull off. As has been reported he and the Nigerian brothers rehearsed the attack to make it as realistic as possible. Why? Because Smollet thought it would be caught on camera. In the GMA interview he said he looked up during the attack and saw they were directly under one of those camera globes. What he did not know was the camera was pointed in the other direction. Ooops! Can you imagine how this thing would have taken off if there had been realistic-looking video of the "attack"? Would the cops even have investigated the hoax theory?
