McCain only ran for senate as a republican in 1982 because he had no chance of winning if running as a Democrat. He only won his primary by less than 3000 votes. He would have been trounced by William E. Hegarty had he run as a Dem.
Hegarty easily won the Democratic nomination and McCain went on to win the election for senator in the heads up vote as a republican.

If we let them take TRUMP from us, The America we all love is gone. The other side WIns. The parties, transnational corps, gov't unions (employees), Antifa?, BLm and friends of G. Soros win. These groups fear Trump more than Satin. Sure Trump is quirky and steps on his on feet a lot of the time. Bull in a china closet. He will do the right thing for the people if given time and the other side knows it. BEWARE OF: the Media, Political Parties, Establishment, and all the groups calling everyone else fascist and racist wearing masks (unless you are up a tree or turkey hunting). God Bless Trump

What about his getting reelected time and again? What does that say about the voting populace of Arizona? It's not difficult to see McCain's stripes.

Once he was in the Arizona voters saw him for what he was, a RINO. From there on it was easy sailing. He has pretty much been a line item democrat his entire career. Doesn't say much for the intellectual capacity of Arizona but they are real close to Cali so there ya have it.
