Quick help unleaded in my Diesel

Well I am an idiot.

Whipped in for gas and just spaced out. I put 6 gallons unleaded in 26 gallon tank. Tank was empty empty when I started.

What do I do?

Truck is brand new and and was just used to unleaded.

Don't even turn the key. Tow it, drain the tank, change the filter, fill the tank and go.

My wife did this when I was offshore. $800 mistake. Start it and it will be closer to $8000

Have it cleaned out. Whatever you do don't start it.

Tow the truck to a place where you can drain the tank.

Don't turn the key on, drain tank and change filters. My dad did it several years back.

Do not start it. Buddy's wife did that in his 6.7 Powerstroke. She realized it when she chugged to a stop 3 miles later. Cost was about $14,000.

Tow it home. Pull tank and drain. Do not turn key. Put a little fuel in tank when off and pour out. Put tank back on and you are good to go.

You turn the key on and the fuel pump will run. That's why I say don't do it until you pull the fuse/relay

You did the right thing, realized it, didn't turn the key, and got good advice.

I'd probably siphon the gasoline out, flush fuel lines and filter, refill with diesel and roll on. Don't think I'd pay a bunch of money to have someone else do it.
