My longest is 40 yards spot and stalk on an axis. Most shots on whitetails are right at 20 yards. I think my furthest shot on a whitetail was 27 yards and my closest was 10 yards. Smart buck that wouldnt hang around so it happened fast. Smoked him with a rage he didnt got 60 yards.

Most whitetails I shoot are from a ground blind. But the 10 yard shot was last year on a cull 6 from a lean to. That was close quarters and fun.

Sounds like a DEER hunter should be VERY GOOD at 20, proficient at 40 and beyond that is just for fun.

My closest was my Fallow deer several years ago at 5 yards and my furthest was my Corsican at 37 yards. Don't like to take shots on deer past 20 yards, too many Ninja moves during flight.

I’m going to stay under 20 yards for my first deer. I wouldn’t have taken the 33 yard shot on a deer for sure, but it was a big so I figured WTH. Ended up hitting dang near perfect.
