I think he was 4.5 or possibly 5.5

No matter what, it was a good pass as you were in doubt

If you felt the need to pass him up and let him grow then I think you made the right decision.

        Hopefully you will be rewarded

I think you made a good decision. Don't keep second guessing yourself but instead look to see what he becomes next year.

If you have to ask yourself if he's big or old enough he usually isn't. When the right one steps out you'll know. Give him another year or two

Thanks guys. Hopefully he grows into a monster next year. We have the genetic potential if he can survive the neighbors and come back next yesr

It will stick with you for a while but it never hurts to pass on a 3.5- 4.5 year old let him spread genetics and get bigger.

I think he is 3.5 and would like to give him another year.

We are trying our best to let the deer reach 4.5.

Look forward to hearing your thoughts.

                                I passed him - should I have?

Hi guys! Resurrecting this thread I originally posted last year.

So I saw this buck again the evening before thanksgiving. I still think he is 4.5 now and 3.5 last year. I decided to pass him again! Maybe I’m crazy but I am hoping he survives another year and really puts on some growth next year.

After the hunt, I pulled the card and he was on camera 11/14. Looks like he has gained some mass, a little tine length and main beam length. Nose looks a little rounder and body generally more mature.

What do you y’all think on updated age / score?
