Help Setting up New Bow - Hoyt Carbon Defiant

I bought a Hoyt Carbon Defiant with a Turbo riser and DFX cams off the classifieds here and need to set it up. The bow came with TT smackdown pro rest and I plan to put a Black Gold 3 pin slider sight. My draw length is 28.5" and I plan to max the bow out on pull weight of 70lbs (so I might get 71 or 72).

The primary purpose of this bow is for backcountry elk hunts so I want to shoot a heavy arrow. My most pressing concern is what arrow to shoot and if I need an insert to add weight. I know I want to be at a total of 450 grains or more. I have been shooting Easton Axis arrows, but the guy I bought it from said he shoots Black Eagle Rampage with 75 grain inserts.

Any help is appreciated! Also looking for a good stabilizer.

A premium shaft in a 300 Spine will be a good fit. If you shorten the arrow up and should be able to run a decent amount of front loading. Hitting high FOC with a mass weight around 500 grains won’t be a problem which will perform flawlessly on any game in NA.
