    Let’s see those shops!

I’m in the very early stages of designing a shop that God willing will be built at our final home this summer. I’m not even sold on a particular size. Plan on having a drive thru bay(no doors) for parking a truck and trailer, lean to, 1bd 1bath living quarters on one end.
    Let’s see what y’all got!
Would love to hear some dos and don’ts. I’m not too proud to learn from your mistakes lol

Always go bigger than you’d think what you need.

            Let’s see those shops!

Mine is nothing big, but it’ll suffice. Main shop is 25’ x 15’ with a 15’ x 15’ covered outside area out the door. I made sure and had 110 plugs put at every stud which are 4’ apart. Can’t never have too many plugs. Lol. Also have a 220 for my welder and another 220 for my air compressor, and a 30 amp for the camper. For lighting, there’s an 8’ LED fixture inside and one outside. Shop is run off a 100 amp sub panel. Now I gotta get to building work tables an turn it into a shop instead of a storage room.

30x60 with 20x30 man cave. All insulated. I can only load 1 pic per post. Well this is the only picture I have of it. I'll get some later.

30x40 with 10 foot lean 2. Its gonna serve as a place on the lake till we build. Will get full bath and a bar if it ever dries enough for me to trench water and lectric

Dried in around Christmas and I should have gone 40x40.

                        Even comes with some wildlife

Build bigger than you are planning now.
                          Use Spray foam.
                          LED lights
Put more electrical outlets in than you plan to use.
Put in 30 amp breaker and a 210 plug.

                          40 x 60 Shop
                          20 x 60 lean to
                          20 x 30 1 Bed room 1 Bath Man Cave
                          20 x 30 Car Port

Lived in the Man Cave 3 yrs while we saved for the house.
Hickory Cabinets, Granite Counter tops, Corner Shower, Stackable Washer & Dryer, pockets doors for saving space.
600 square ft doesn’t sound like a lot of room for a family, but we lived comfortably with both boys and made some awesome memories.

                              That’s what I’m going with.

Idk about as good but you can order them engineered and can pass the Texas windstorm specs. They’re half or less in price.

I will be doing a DIY thread to following along on the finish out of mine.
