I think most agree that the climate of the earth is, albeit slowly, changing all the time. The earth is some 4.5 billion years old. Weather documentation started some 300-400 years ago. As such, our understanding of the earth is based on 300 or 400 years of direct observation, then we are forced to theorize based on scientific methods.
What I do believe climate change theory is more predicated upon is that humans may be accelerating the rate at which the climate is changing. That is a theory I personally buy into, given the wealth of research that either suggests this is true OR fails to disprove it.
