I can't shoot nearly as late with the irons on my 45-70 as I can the 3-9x40 on my AR.

I love my 1-4x Viper PST on one of my AR15s. That particular gun has killed deer and a bobcat at 100ish yards, a raccoon at 350 and multiple hogs at night up to 75 yards.

I was able to identify the hogs further out but I prefer to stalk up closer since I’m shooting freehand at night.

I will most likely scope mine with a 3-9. Leaning towards the Bushnell AR series. They have several models suited for Ar platforms.

5.56 has a red dot

I prefer the scope for hunting. But spraying pigs, red dot gets used
