Buff, a buddy and I were stalking stags in Scotland several years ago during the rut. We "roared" at several stags and they approached us, our guide (ghillie) was having a stroke saying calling was not allowed then we asked if we could make a plywood decoy so we could hide behind it a shoot em with a bow....he dang near had a full come apart. Seems bows are illegal to use as they are "poachers weapons" in Scotland.

Love hearing red deer roar and go nuts! I don't know what it is about those critters that has always infatuated me.
Gonna have to give calling a whirl this weekend if they are still roaring and carrying on like I heard they were last weekend.
