We all want clean air, clean water and clean land. Not because the sky is falling but because we want clean air, water and land.
I drive an electric car (Bmw i3) because the doors make this car the most wheelchair accessible car I have ever owned. I am not changing the temperature of the planet. I also super insulated my house with windows, radiant barrier and such. My AC does not have to work so hard to cool my house and my electric bill is a lot less.
My car has a gas generator so I can make it to a plug to charge up if I run out of battery. I spend about $15.00 a year in gas. But I am not going far in this thing. It's a city car.
My main point is we don't need a one size fits all solution to pollute less. We definitely don't need a government mandate telling us how to live. My car puts out a lot less carbon monoxide. But for this car to be light enough for an electric motor to push it around it has to be made of plastic. My car is pretty much a big blob of oil. it would not surprise me if I used more oil than a ford f150 over 5 years.
