Experience: Started with Film SLR (Olympus OM10) 25+ years ago. I've shot with a Minolta X700 SLR. I had a B&W darkroom that Glenn and I built into my closet in high school. I worked at a Photo Lab/Portrait studio (Quick as a Flash) and did wedding photography through college.

I've enjoyed getting back into photography with the digital SLR's, though the equipment is much more expensive than I ever remembered! Fortunately, film and development costs are nominal, once the initial investment has been made!

I started out with my Dad's Argus rangefinder camera shooting Kodachrome. I was probably about 6. My first camera was a Nikkomat FT-2. I have shot Nikon ever since. I was the photographer for my high school's newspaper and yearbook. I worked for the local newspaper while I attended UT. I had my own darkroom and still remember the smells. I have done a few weddings and portrait shoots. Sports and wildlife photography are my passions now.

I stared shooting photography as a kid. I started with a roll film box camera and got my first 35mm camera, and built my first darkroom in the bathroom that I shared with my sister, when I was around 12. (she's a serious photographer too

My mother was a medical illustrator SOooo... I was an art student. The camera was a tool to shoot subjects and to shoot slides of my finished work for my portfolio. In art school one of the classes was on how to make polarized copy slides of art. This is the class that got me started copying old family photos and restoring them.

I was a school paper & yearbook photographer in high school.

I was drafted and went to Vietnam in the infantry. I carried a 35mm with me in the field and shot whenever it was safe, and I could.

After I got out of the service and went back to school I majored in commercial art and minored in photography.

I've been a commercial, industrial, wedding & portrait photographer since 1973. I have shot/worked for major oil companies and owned a wedding portrait studio. I'm also a diver and have done underwater photography for many years. Most of my photography is work. I have to make myself go out and take pix for fun these days (shot some great bluebonnets last year

I have many cameras (not as many as I used to- sold many on eBay). I mostly shoot a Nikon D200 and the lens that usually sits on it is a Sigma 17~70/f2.8, but I have lots of glass.

I also still use two Mamiya 645s for commercial jobs where I need a larger file size than what the D200 produces. I scan the film with an Epson 4870. I have three serious lenses for the 645s that produce some incredible images. (see the BigBend thread)

                  I use PhotoshopCS

Some old photos I need to update newer ones.

                        Nikon D80

200mm VR Lens, do not know all the technical jargon but enjoy taking pics.

I am a hack with no training and learn as I go. Got interested after seeing Legdogs photos and wife bought me D80 for my B-day.
