      Sorry for your loss

We had a catahoula when I was growing up, think he hunted copperheads. Face was swole several times each summer

Sorry for the loss. I have a female pit bull that is also a snake killing machine. She has been bitten twice by copperheads. She has learned to circle them and grab them in middle and shake them so quickly and violently that they usually fly apart. She used to meet them head on, that's how she got bit. She hasn't met up with a rattler yet. I wish she could read, I'd show her this thread so she'd be careful..

              Sorry about your loss
I have owned land 33 years in Leon co and no rattlers yet.

More copperheads this year than ever before.

That sucks, sorry to hear. I overheard someone a while back talking about a shot you can give your dogs beforehand that makes them immune to the venom in case they get bit. They were saying their hunting dogs had it so should be good just in case. Is this a thing?

I hunt the river bottom below Lake Limestone around Marquez and have a place on the Jewett side of the lake. We have seen 2 Timbers on the river bottom but none around the lake. We have seen a few copper heads around the lake.
