    10 - 700 yd hog gun

Will be used for WT as well

These options are on the shelf

    Mosdberg Patriot w/ accu trigger
    Savage Axis
    AR10 in .308
    AR15 in 5.56/.223

My concern with the .223 is the 65 grain bullet
    AR10 is heavy

    Which caliber

    .243
    .270
    6.5 creedmoor
    .308
    .30-07

Not many people know about the 30-07, some great improvements were made that year....too bad it's always been somewhat of a wildcat...

Seriously, any of those will do it but all will be running out of steam at that range.

Also, based on your bolt action budget, you'll be hard pressed to find an AR in that budget to shoot accurately...IMO. You're really asking a lot of those bolt guns as well for 700 yards.

I'd also look at a mod 700 ADL or Sav Mod 10 Predator with the accu-stock.

          It's a cross between the 30-06 and 7mm Mag ;-)

With your bolt action budget look for a Ruger American Predator in 6.5 creedmore. Should be 500 dollars or less, high BC factory ammo is available at a reasonable price and should have the energy needed out to 800 yards. Most reviews I have been reading people have been getting less than 1 moa groups. Several videos on you tube taking 6.5 creedmoor out for long range shooting.

                2nd on the 6.5. It's a deadly round.

Before I opened the thread, the thought I had was '308', so, that. Maybe in one of the bolt guns if you're not into the AR.

Can you put the accu trigger on a Savage?
