    Post rut tactics

So what is your game plan for hunting after the rut?

I've had some of the best luck rattling post rut. I'll be trying that some.

This...big Corn Piles ahead of a front...a really really cold front! They'll be trying to replenish lost rut weight. Wheatfields good too. Should load up when it gets cold

Last year after the rut Rice Bran was the ticket on my place! Lots of bucks trying to put weight back on and that full fat rice bran does some em good!

Food and bedding areas. Any others tactics?

Find groups of does. Bucks will be cruising searching for the unbred ones. They will be a while behind them, but they will still be checking.

Just starting to rut where I hunt, but food will be the focus when post-rut time comes.
