This! The best I have ever had was pan fried elk at my house. It was to die for and I never cook chicken fried. My family loved it!!! Since I don't have any elk and I don't like the mess, I will have to default to Mary's and Babes.

Barth's in Kenedy, Tx. It is a chicken fried steak. Not pounded flat like most. Tender and great home cooking taste. I heard they changed owners and I have not been there in a few years but it used to be great.

BBQ Inn in Houston used to have a really good one. Haven't been there in years though.

My family and I are huge BBQ inn fans good choice sir and they have insane fried chicken also it is worth the wait
